01 Jul Local Volunteering
The ECA Networking group is highlighting local volunteering opportunities.
We are after a little help…
City Food Support Team
We have an opportunity for local people to become active in their community and support the food efforts across the City. We have deliveries of ambient food (room temperature) from FareShares coming into the City and co-ordinated by Jennie Layhe (Court Community Association) and Vanessa Worrall (The Redwell Centre) with assistance from a military planner.
Are you available to assist with unloading future deliveries (Tuesdays between 2-4pm) and sorting the parcels (Thursdays 9am-12pm) at St Barnabus Church? The workload can be adapted to suit your physical ability and would make the tasks smoother and quicker to ensure the food is delivered to our most vulnerable residents as soon as possible.
Please email community.wellbeing@gloucester.gov.uk if you would like to be involved.
Local Food Support team ( Elmbridge)
Are you available to assist with unloading future deliveries and sorting the parcels between 2-3pm on Thursdays, in the Elmbridge area? The workload can be adapted to suit your physical ability and would make the task smoother and quicker to ensure the food is delivered to our most vulnerable residents as soon as possible.
Please email elmscroftca@gmail.com if you would like to be involved.
Fair Shares Community Time Bank
Hosted by our friends at the Friendship Cafe and City farm, timebanking is a great way to meet new people and learn new skills. For more infomation visit www.fairshares.org.uk
If you are interested in taking part contact Reyaz on 01452 415900 or email gloucester@fairshares.org.uk.
If you have caught the helping bug, do-it.org and Engage in Gloucester have many interesting roles in our area and beyond.
